Books to Read after ‘Seven’

tbr, tbr list, to be read list, read, bookworm, bookaholic, nerd, booknerd, book love, bibliophileJen Hatmaker is my new girl crush, and so since these books obviously shaped and influenced her while she was preparing for and writing Seven, you better believe they’re on my TBR list too. A lot of these are books I would never pick up on my own, but I think it’s important to read and learn about things that are different from your normal thoughts and views. We don’t have to agree on everything, but the more we educate ourselves and consider other viewpoints, the better off we’ll be.

So here are some books that I’m interested in reading now that I’ve finished Seven:
In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto by Michael Pollan

Animal Vegetable Miracle: A Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver

Simplicity by Richard Rorh

Consumed by Benjamin R. Barber

The Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne

What Are People For? by Wendell Berry

For the Beauty for the Earth: A Christian Vision for Creation Care by Steven Bouma-Prediger

Serve God Save the Planet: A Christian Call to Action by J. Matthew Sleeth

Seven Sacred Pauses by Macrina Wiederkehr

Seeds of Hope by Henri Nouwen
